Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week and it looks as though Spring is on it's way.

Hope this doesn't put you off!
I found these when we got back from skiing.

It's frog spawn which we've never had in the pond before.
Naturally we will be watching the development.
I rather like the pattern they make too.

Obviously Maisie and Stan are making the most of being back home.

They really do put up with each other as you can see here.
Stan wants this spot but Maisie wont move so he has to rest his feet on her not that this will make her move either.

I've been busy catching up with friends, going to the gym, walking dogs, taking mum out and sorting out the ski gear, there's always something to do but hope to catch-up with some crafting soon.

Before I go I just have to show you one more photograph from the ski trip.

We photographed this up the mountain but no idea really what it's doing there, it appears to be something relating to the Olympics according to the rings on the door.

If it's possible I would say that is one cute little car.

Have a great Easter weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

Paper Artsy Nautical Challenge.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I don't normally do cards for specific challenges but quite fancied this one over at Paper Artsy.

The stamps are by Paper Artsy (Lynne Perrella) and the stencil by Tim Holtz which I applied Distress ink to.
The card blank is Craft Card and I completed the design using various colours of Stickle Glitter Glue and square sequins and the red and white cord which feels quite nautical too.

Hope you like it and I would love to hear your comments.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Artisitc Stamper Challenges - March Creative Challenge - Stencils and Masks

Black and White.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with a restricted colour scheme, in this case black and white:

I just fancied doing something a bit different and here it is:

I started by using a Tim Holtz stencil with white ink onto a black card and layered these onto white card.
I printed these Visible Image stamps onto white card and then layered them onto the black.

I completed the card with some square sequins in silver and gold which fit great with this stencil.
The stamped light bulb was completed with gold Stickles glue and I edged the card with black ink.

I love this finished card and hope you like it too.
I think this might well make a good masculine card.

I would love to hear your comments.
Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,
Angela x

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

Not sure things are much different as I've been busy getting the ski gear washed and packed away but I have done a bit of crafting too.

I had a play with a Paper Artsy stamp to create an Easter themed Mastrboard but not sure weather I like it or not.

Close-up.

Some of the stamps I've been working with.

This set is actually Christmas and Easter, so love those quirky hares.

Anyway that's the stuff on my desk today.

I'll be round to see you all later as I'm off to meet some friends for coffee first.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - Bunnies, Chicks or Eggs

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over
at Crafty Cardmakers.

Kim is hosting today and our challenge is 'Bunnies, Chicks or Eggs'.

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to be just cards, as long as it meets the challenge!

Hope you will join in.

And here is my project for the challenge:

To make this card I started with a piece of watercolour paper which I coloured with Distress Oxide inks by applying it to a craft mat and then pulling the paper over it and drying between colours.

Stamp any woodland style background with the first and second generation ink to give depth to the background.
The little hares were a free stamp from the Craft Stamper Magazine and I heat embossed these after stamping them.

Now you will need to cut a section of this and edge it with a matching ink.

Next prepare the card blank and mat it with a plain matching card.
I decided to make this into a Tri Fold.

Stamp, colour and cut out the hare.
I used a Hobby Art Stamp for this - CS124D March Hares, adding a little highlight with a white gel pen after colouring.

I think positioning the hare like this with the smaller ones towards the back gives great depth to the design yet still gives a flat card which is good for posting.

One more look at the finished card.

I added a mat on the outside fold before mounting the main piece which I had stamped using a stamp by Sheena Douglas and then added Stickles glitter glue.
I also added a mat inside which could have another sentiment or a note from you to the recipient.
The sentiment on the front is from a set by Tracy Eason and available from 'Which Craft' and the birds on the branch from another free magazine set.

I hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the DT have been up to and maybe join in the challenge.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with too.
 Happy crafty card making.

Friday Fun Day With Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week, well mostly last week actually as this week has been full of washing and visiting my parents.

Some of you may remember seeing this photograph before as we have stayed in this hotel before which faces the school.
This is part of Tignes in the French Alps.

There was a lot of snow!

Wednesday is Sports Day and naturally that means Skiing!
The Instructors are all here waiting for their pupils to appear.

And here they are.

You may well have guessed by now that this is a Primary School.
How cute are these little ones!

These little ones have got to make you smile!

The next photographs are of Piste-Bashers.
We could have done with some of these at home.

They work through the night to groom the Piste. They have a blade on the front and a comb on the back.

There is nothing nicer than skiing over a piste that has been groomed by a Piste-Basher.

This next photograph shows how deep the snow is.

This thing buried in the snow is a street light.

That is a lot of snow!

The roads however are kept relatively clean.

Unfortunately this is probably the end of the season for us but hopefully there will be another one next year.

We left France at Geneva Airport.
It's big and very modern!

If you like shopping then this is the place to be.

But the snow didn't end there as the UK had a little more to offer.

Thankfully most of this has now gone and we are hoping it stays that way but who knows.
I hope where ever you are that you stay warm.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

WOYWW # 459 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

We're back and I need to get this Easter card made before I run out of time.
Though this is not actually on my desk today you may remember me playing with some die cut butterflies, well now I can show you what they were for:

The 3D butterflies were made using a mould and Paper Clay.
I have done a tutorial for this over at The Craft Barn which you can find here if you want to see how I made this.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with one of my Masterboards and yet more Left-overs! I don't know where it's all coming from Lol!

For this card I used an A4 piece of card and a Tim Holtz stencil colouring through this with Distress Oxides making some areas thicker and fading the colour in others.

The left-over part of this card are the Kim Dellow Flowers which I had stamped some time ago but not used them all.

I began by preparing the mats to fit the inside and fold of the large card and two pieces for the smaller card.

The next stage is to prepare the card blanks.
The small card is 4"x4" and the large one 7"x7". I have folded the front of the large card back on itself to make a concertina style.

Colour the edges with a matching Distress ink using a blending tool.

I stamped the sentiment on the small card using a Paper Artsy stamp by Zinski Art and mounted the mats in place.

Next I played around with the flowers to decide on a suitable arrangement and cut and layered a few of these to give a little more depth to them.

Once I had finished the placement of the flowers I added some Stickles Glitter Glue to add the sparkle.

I have left the inside blank at this stage as this card would be suitable for a variety of  greetings and I do like to have a few cards at the ready.

Hope you enjoyed watching me make this card, it's one of my favourite styles.
Many thanks for stopping by.
I would love to hear your comments.

Happy crafting,

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Saturday started here.

This is the East Midlands airport which we have never used before and it is so quiet!

And we're off!

This is a bit like a Busman's holiday as our room overlooks a school.
I know some of you must think we're mad having just got rid of the snow at home and now  we're in France skiing!

We have had lots of snow but then it's better than not having any Lol!

These machines are 'Piste Bashers' just returning after their work
which is done through the night while everyone is in bed.

Sorry about the clarity of this photograph but it is snowing.

We could have done with some of these at home the other week Lol!

I promise to get round to see you anyone who leaves me a comment, it may just take me a bit longer than usual.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
