Friday Fun day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

I have lots to show you but will stagger everything so as not to keep you here for too long.
So there will be more next week, great if you like Steampunk.

This was August Bank Holiday when the Steampunk Festival took place.

Lucy the dragon is back at the Lincoln castle and she liked it so much that she has brought her friend Norman with her this time.

She has arrived in plenty of time to settle before the Steampunk festival began.

As usual there's a wide variety of costumes.

Often very stylish.

Some are quite amazing and must have taken an age to make.

They are so imaginative.

And very creative.

Though a bit strange at times.

The ages of the people who attend vary too.

Don't worry the gun is only a replica.

There are many imaginative ideas for Steampunk weapons.

And the pets are so sweet.

On the Monday after the Steampunk Festival we started our journey to Whitby in North Yorkshire.
Some of you may know that Bram Stoker based his novel of Dracula around Whitby and it was there in the library he found the name.

We went over the Humber bridge on the way to Whitby. Great views.

Just to give you an idea of where we are.

Yorkshire Moors.

And nearly there but it is quite a long way from Lincoln, took us about  four hours in all.

And this is the Guest house where we stayed.

Beautiful room.

Very cosy.

With lots of original features.

Then into the town.

Several boat trips if you fancy it.

But I'm more interested in walking round and taking a few photographs.

We had a visit to the Abbey after walking up these long steps to the top of ther hill.

I wonder if you can see what Icecream they are selling?

I have lots more photographs of the Abbey but will save those for next week.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

WOYWW - 744 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
We are here for another Wednesday at the Workdesk and here is:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the
Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!
And I'm still in the cabin.

You may remember that I was working on this desk last week.
Now I have even more on the desk as I'm trying to decide what else I will use to decorate the box so there are moulded pieces and MDF.
The shelving at the back that you can see are where I store papers, card, journals etc.

I've added some stencilling to the outside but it's difficult to see that yet as the Gel medium I used dries clear but you will see it when I add the paint.
I've also added some more moulded bottles too.

I know some of you were interested in the rolling pin I've been using. I push the air dry clay into the mould, go over it with the roller then use a palette knife to scrape away the access so that it's flat in the mould.

I am looking at the posibility of adding something on the top of the box and this is my moulded octopus but not quite decided yet how this will develop.

I hope this will have moved on by the time you're back next week.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made using the Retiform technique:

I love the retiform technique and use it a lot.
I often prep. the backgrounds on A3 card in different colours and then they are ready to use later to add the detail.
These stamps were free with a magazine and had lots of images relating to crafts including the sentiment so it was easy to put together.

I wanted a masculine card but needed to relate it too crafting.
I think it worked but what do you think?

I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Friday Fun day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.
Remember this from last week....

For those of you who saw this last week these ladies and gentleman were doing Yoga in the park. This group gets bigger each week and I'm sure it will continue while the weather is nice.

My main bit of fun since I saw you last time was the craft and chat club.
Everyone was making a card with the mechanism I had worked out for them.

These were a couple of my samples.

And the next few are made by the club members though I didn't get photos of them all but I'm sure you will like the ones I got.

It's not easy to see how this works but I call it the Pop Out and Pop In Card.

You can see the inside better when it's laid flat.

They are alll gorgeous.

I would think that anyone would love to receive this card.

And finally one of the ladies put here's into a journal, great idea.

No funnies today just a few photos from the Steampunk festival which took place in Lincoln over the Bank holiday weekend.
If you're interested I have lots more but they will be for another day.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.
