Lovely Surprise!

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I had a lovely surprise recently when I opened the package that my friend Gloria sent me.

This was the gorgeous birthday present I received.

And she also sent me this card.

She knows me too well, just love clocks and gears Lol!

And of course the clock which you have already seen.

Hope you like these as much as I do?

Happy crafting and happy Valentine's Day to you all.

WOYWW 297# What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi Workdesk friends.
Another Wednesday and I am here to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the
Stamping Ground and our dear host Julia will explain and all will be revealed.

A dear blogging friend Deb-Paxton Valley Folk Art recently told me I am like a Mad Scientist.
This is one of the nicest things anyone has said to me in a long time Lol!
As I am not one to disappoint, I have some more testing to show you today.

So here is my desk for this week.

For some time I have had some Mod Podge Melts and although I have tried them I wasn't happy with my glue gun so I have treated myself to a new one which is proving much better and here it is:

This is a Dremel with two heat settings which is much better when working with the glue sticks as some need a hotter temp. and some a cooler one.
The finished pieces don't really look much at this stage, however!

Add some paint and gilding wax and they are transformed into something quite different.

More samples for your delight.

I particularly like the Steampunk piece with the cogs though they all worked well.

Hope you like the effect. If you have any questions just leave me a comment and I will get back to you but now I'm off to see what everyone else has been up to and I hope you will do the same.

Just in case anyone missed the journal cover, here it is though you will see it better if you click on it and open it up.

Happy WOYWW crafting
and
have a good week

The Adventures of BP Mini me.

Hi to you all, BP here, welcome to all my followers.
I've been a bit silly today as you will see.
It all started here.

Gosh!! You look so big Stanley!!!
Maisie! Maisie! where are you, save me!

Honestly BP do I look as though I would hurt you?
Anyway you wouldn't taste very good.
I feel quite hurt now, I've got my sad face on look!

I'm sorry Stanley I never meant to hurt your feelings, I mustn't be so silly in future.
Hope you have a nice day and that goes for all of you too.

Bye for now.

Your Friend BP Mini me

Journal Cover.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

If you've been around you will know that I have been playing with fabrics and I am here to show you how I have used one of them in this project.
This is my DT sample for this month's challenge at The Mirror Crack'd.

My Journal cover is finished Lol!
Well the front anyway!
Here it is and hope you like it.

If you would like to know how I completed this project I have included a tutorial but it is rather long so I apologise in advance.
It's up to you should you to choose whether you wish to accept the challenge of reading it Lol!
Happy Crafting.

I have been testing a range of different fabrics including, Tyvek, net, lace, polyester organza and acetate lining fabrics.

I have used Tyvek plus stencils, texture pastes and a few other bits and pieces to decorate this journal cover.

Here is the original journal, not very exciting to look at.

I started by covering the front with torn tissue paper.

Next added the Ist stencil -

And the 2nd stencil -

The next stage was to start adding the colour.

I started with an acrylic paint and then added a texture paste containing glass beads.
I used this between the stencilling to complete the design.
You can just see the beads shining on the surface.

Next I added the sprays, some of these have mica added which gives a gorgeous iridescent shine.

I quite liked the colours at this stage but more to add yet.

I continued building up the colour and finished this by rubbing over various colours of Treasure Gold.

For the focal point I decided to add a clock face (Tando Creative)which I covered with Gesso then Crackle Glaze and the Texture Paste. When this was dry I rubbed over with a selection of Treasure Gold as shown below.

I also decided to add a metal finding and treated this in a similar way by adding the Treasure Gold.

I had already prepared some Tyvek.
Some of you may remember me doing these tests last month.
If you would like to see this I have included a link back to the post.

I trimmed the Tyvek slightly and included some machine sewing before adding it to the journal cover.
Once everything was ready, I began putting it together with the addition of a few other fabrics and embellishments and here it is completed.

It took me quite some time to make this which is why you are not able to see the back, that will be a project for another time.

Thanks for stopping by.
Any comments will be gratefully accepted as long as they are nice ones LOl! and of course any questions, I will do my best to answer.

If you would like to see what my team members have made for this project then pop over to "the mirror crack'd".
If you choose to join in, the sponsor this month is Woodware.
They are giving away a prize of £12.00 to spend at your favourite Woodware stockist, either in store or online.

As this journal cover is actually incomplete I am entering it in the SanDee & Amelie's Steampunk Challenge "Unfinished Steampunk"

Hope to see you again soon.

Happy crafting,

WOYWW 296 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Back again for another Wednesday.

I am here to show you:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the
Stamping Ground and our dear host Julia will explain and all will be revealed.

So here is my desk this week.

If you had been here on Sunday you might have said it is impossible to work in this mess and though I have made some space, there is definitely room for some more tidying up to be done Lol!

On my desk you can see the sketchbook I have been working on.
Sorry but you will have to come back Tomorrow after 12.30 pm as I can't tell you what it is I have been doing until then. However, it includes lots of mixed media and it's not inside the journal and that's too much already Lol!

And here you can see the clock that my friend Gloria sent me using last month's Masterboard swap.
There are more photographs of this in the Monday post.

Some newish! stamps that I haven't got round to using yet.

And yes as you can see, there is still stuff everywhere and this is what happens when you go away skiing not long after Christmas.
I just never got sorted and now it's February Lol!.

Anyhow this is my desk for the week.
If you have any questions, just ask!

But for now....

I'm off to see what everyone else have been doing.

Hope you will visit them too.
Thanks for visiting and have a great week.
Happy WOYWW to you all,
Angela x
