WOYWW 269 # 'What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday'

A big welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Angela here to show you "what's on my work desk this Wednesday"(WOYWW) and if you visit Julia you will have access to desks throughout the world, so hope you will hop over to the Stamping Ground and all will be revealed.

I almost forgot that someone had asked last week, "What is in the red drawers?", yet more nosey people LOL! Sorry interested!
I had to admit that I am not sure myself in some of them so have opened them up to have a look.

  • unmounted text stamps that I use regularly for greeting cards,

  • some rub ons that I have had for ages and nearly got rid of them but I am using them on tags and the like,

  •
  •  teabags, waiting to go into a journal and greeting banners I hardly use,

  • masks and slider folders for altering,
  •

  • a few unmounted stamps which I use quite often,
  •

  • stamp blocks,
  •

  • paperwork, orders etc.,
  •

  • bits and bobs that I keep just because I like the look of them. To the left of the drawer are some skins I made ages ago but haven't used them yet and things that don't seem to have a home anywhere else.
  • There are a couple more drawers but they just contain similar things.

  • And finally the drawers at the bottom are home to specialist card, paper, tags, shrink plastic, modelling plastic and various types of acetate.
  •

So that's it really, if you haven't lost the will to live LOL!
you did ask but it's not very exciting LOL!

Happy Crafting and thanks for visiting.
 See you next week.

Heckington Show, July 2014.

We spent a great day out on Sunday at the Heckington Show near Sleaford.

This village show has become the largest of it's kind in the country.
When we first came to Lincoln it was held only on the recreation ground but now covers several of the surrounding fields too.
It is a real family show with events that you don't often see anymore at the large shows.
Tug of war, ploughing competitions, Indian encampment and various  reenactments of knights fighting etc.
Unusually for a village show it has horse jumpimg with qualifying rounds for the Horse Of The Year Show.

I have several photographs that I took this year and I am showing a few here but will put more on the stand alone page above if you wish to look further.

Him indoors is out of doors today, sensibly wearing a hat.

Vegetable reconstruction competition, very artistic.

Tug of Rope.

I just loved this but don't know what happened to postman Pat LOL!

For me this is what an agricultural show should be all about, retaining our heritage.

One here for my Steampunk buddies Lol! Gorgeous.

These are the "FANY" short for the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry.
They were established in 1907.

Bikes.

Indians.

And finally the show jumpimg.

This is by no means everything that was going on but should give an idea of how good the show is.

Hope you enjoyed that.

Back soon,

Angela x

Masterboard Monday

A big welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Blogbuddies been busy recently with yet more Masterboards and different ways to create the designs.
This week I have been looking at texture for this Masterboard.
I started by ripping up some pieces of the Tim Holtz tissue paper then wrinkling and attaching it to an A3 piece of cartridge paper.
Next I added watered down acrylic paint through various stencils to add colour and some detail.

I completed it by stamping the watch images and some Gesso through a text stencil.
I did not want this coloured so left it white but rubbed over a little gilding wax and buffed it up and that's it really.
I shall be sending this off to Gloria and we shall see what she does with it in a few weeks time.

      This is the stamp used.

Hope you like this Masterboard design, I think I may well make more like this to use myself.

This does have lots of surface texture so it will be interesting to see how you can use it on different projects.

Back soon,
Angela x

I very much want to thank those people who have supported me and all those who have visited my blog, joined my followers and left such kind comments.

I am just sorry I am unable to give you all something.

After much thought I decided to giveaway one of my mini journals.

The Adventures of BP Mini Me.

Hi to you all, BP here.
I seem to have been on my shelf for ages and although it's nice and safe, I AM BORED AGAIN!!!

It's also been very hot up here, it could be this metal jacket but as I am wearing nothing but my plastic underclothes I cannot take it off.
It's no good I will have to go walkabout again LOL!

Hello! Another bird!
She'll be giving me wings next LOL!
So you're the one she was working on, love the hat.

Cheep......! Cheep! Cheep!

WOW! LOL! it talks.

I am pleased to meet you BP. I didn't think anyone was going to speak to me they all seem busy doing their own thing.

Don't worry bird, I've been here for a while now so I'll put you straight on anything you're not sure about. Do you have a name?

I don't think so perhaps someone could give me a name, I would really like one.
She refers to me as Blue Bird but maybe someone could think of something better?

We definitely need to give this some thought, maybe someone else could help too?

Off to think about names, if anyone out there has an idea do let us know.

Bye for now,

BP Mini Me xxx

And here is my desk offering for this week.
I have been tidying up though you probably can't tell there is much difference......

until you look at the next picture, everything back to normal now LOL!

I have had an unexpected request for a wedding card on Sunday so my other jobs have had to stop for a short time.

The request was for something cream with pearls.

Anyway it's quite a short post today, must get on but hope you like the card so far and will post the completed project later in the week.

Happy crafting,

Masterboard Monday

A big welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Blogging Friends  here to show you a card that I made using one of my Masterboards.

First the stamps:
Hampton Art, diffusion.

And here is the Masterboard.

You may remember seeing this background before because I have already used this Clarity stencil for other projects.
I just love it LOL!

I used the Big and Juicy MOUNTAIN MEADOW ink pad to stamp with.
Some images were stamped straight from the pad and some where second or third pushes to vary the depth of colour.

I then set about cutting out the sections to mat and layer parts of the design.

Added Stickles glue to the flowers for that all important sparkle.

And here is the finished card.

To complete it I added gilding flakes around the edge of the topper, stamped the moths again and attached them to the card along the body section.
I also added ribbon, gems and an insert which I stamped with the moths.

Here is a close-up showing the added moths.

I have sent a copy of this Masterboard to my friend Gloria and it will be interesting to see how she uses it.

That's all for now.
Back soon and happy crafting,

Angela x
