Heckington Show, July 2014.

We spent a great day out on Sunday at the Heckington Show near Sleaford.

This village show has become the largest of it's kind in the country.
When we first came to Lincoln it was held only on the recreation ground but now covers several of the surrounding fields too.
It is a real family show with events that you don't often see anymore at the large shows.
Tug of war, ploughing competitions, Indian encampment and various  reenactments of knights fighting etc.
Unusually for a village show it has horse jumpimg with qualifying rounds for the Horse Of The Year Show.

I have several photographs that I took this year and I am showing a few here but will put more on the stand alone page above if you wish to look further.

Him indoors is out of doors today, sensibly wearing a hat.

Vegetable reconstruction competition, very artistic.

Tug of Rope.

I just loved this but don't know what happened to postman Pat LOL!

For me this is what an agricultural show should be all about, retaining our heritage.

One here for my Steampunk buddies Lol! Gorgeous.

These are the "FANY" short for the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry.
They were established in 1907.

Bikes.

Indians.

And finally the show jumpimg.

This is by no means everything that was going on but should give an idea of how good the show is.

Hope you enjoyed that.

Back soon,

Angela x
