Back again for another Wednesday.

So here is my desk this week but before that:

I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year for tomorrow.

I am planning a cover for one of my journals and thought I might use some Tyvek as part of the design, not played with it for a while but we'll see, not sure yet Lol!

 

Tyvek comes in a variety of forms, as fabric and the other looks more like paper.

If you would like to see what I make you will have to pop back in the new year.

That is when I have tidied the desk and made enough room to work Lol!

 

 

Right! now I'm off to see what everyone else has been up to.

Masterboard Monday and Playtime.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

After all that card making for Christmas I really felt like I needed to have some playtime.

I have been trying out some techniques on my Picasa3 program.
I have been copying many of my Masterboards, mainly so I could remember what I've made but also so I have them available to use again or even to give away, if anyone wants a copy.I have some card that I decorated using stencils but wanted them in different colours so I copied the design and scanned it into my computer.
I like to use Picasa but that is just my preference.
These are some samples that I ended up with.

Here you can see the original which I made with Gesso, distress inks and a stencil.

 

And here are some of the results of my Playtime.

 

 

 

Now they are a bit different from the original or what!

Not sure yet what I will use these for but I certainly had good fun making them.

I shall probably have some more examples from another Masterboard to follow soon and who knows maybe some uses for them.

Gosh not long now!, bet you are all busy getting ready for tomorrow.

My parents are here today so not much crafting, we are having a forced rest and here is my desk for this week.

I have to say this is a new experience for me as we have not spent Christmas in this country for about 34 years so just hoping I get it right Lol!
I'm sure my mother will be giving me suitable instructions Lol!

I have finished the box and baubles I was making last week so thought I would show you those as so many people have asked about them.

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

If you've visited me before, you may well know that I make lots of Masterboards which are hand decorated papers which can be used whole or die-cut to build up your design.

This is the Masterboard I sent to my friend Gloria.
I made this by stamping with clear embossing ink onto the white paper and then applying clear embossing powder and heating it.
Not only does this leave you with a white image but it works as a resist too. 
Next I dabbed blue inks onto a craft mat and sprayed water onto it. Then I dragged the paper over it and allowed it to dry.
I completed the design by stamping various snowflake images and text.
Because the embossed areas repel the ink, the stamped images appear to be behind the large snowflakes. It's best if you buff this area when the paper is dry which will remove ink from the embossed sections.

 

 

And this is what she sent me back.

Bet you can't wait to see what's inside!

 

 

I am just overwhelmed by her creativity, this is just amazing. Hope you like it too.

 

 

So much detail, love it.

 

There were other things in the parcel but that is for another day.

Saturday Swap.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

My friend Gloria sent me this masterboard for this month's swap and
this is what I decided to do with it.

 

Quite fancied using it to cover a box and make some baubles to decorate it.

 

 

I have cut out the stamped baubles and used these as patterns to cut the card mount to give them some depth.

Next I will edge each one.

 

 

I mounted the baubles on the outside of the box.

I had to photograph these in the evening so sorry about the shine it's the sealant I used but it does make them nice and shiny.

 

 

 

 

 

So many people asked to see the finished box so I hope
you enjoyed looking.

The Fairy girl said she needed to go shopping so I said I would fill in for her but I hope she will be back soon, things to do you know.

I have been working on the December swap with my friend Gloria using this Masterboard, since finishing my Christmas cards.

This is the part where I am making some baubles to go inside a decorated box. I would like to complete it before Christmas but we shall see lol!

 

Well that should be quick enough for you I hope and I will post again when the box is finished.

The Adventures of BP Mini Me.

Hi to you all, BP here, welcome to all my followers.

I'm back at last!
I have been on my shelf for ages, bet you thought I'd disappeared, well... she has been so busy making Christmas cards that I have been unable to get down as she would have seen me but I am here now and need to have a good look round, you never know what they've been up to Lol!

This is my usual place.

 

 

And as you can see, I've escaped Lol!

The hand is waving, just hope he doesn't attract any attention with his bell.

 

And here I am on her desk.

Masterboard Monday# Not another Christmas Card!

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am onto quick cards now, anything to get the last few finished.
Anyway here we go Lol!

Remember this Masterboard?
I almost didn't use it as I wasn't sure about the colour which is why there aren't many trees stamped on it, in fact very little detail at all.

 

Anyway decided you can't waste stuff so here are the cards I've made.

 

The close-up shows the acetate overlay a bit clearer, I have left it loose at the bottom.

 

This one has holly leaves embossed on it.

 

This overlay has a swirl design.

 

Once you've made the Masterboard these cards are fairly quick to put together and I think the addition of the overlay gave the card the extra detail that was missing.

More Christmas Cards

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.  

Another Christmas card but hopefully I don't have many more to make.

Masterboard, sprayed red and stamped with red crackle stamp and text then black Christmas trees and stickles glue.

The stars are a die which I cut using mirror board.

This was layered up and mounted onto further mirror board and black card.

 

The sentiment was mounted with a red ribbon to complete the card.
