WOYWW # 511 - What's On You Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

And today you will see my Sizzix Big Shot foldaway die cutting machine.
To the left is a die by Crafter's Companion

and on the right stamps and dies that I'm planning to use to make some Easter cards with.
Just noticed there's a little old butterfly stamp there too sitting on top my Huggies (wet ones to those of you who don't know the make)

Poor Stacy at Memory Triggers had been having problems with one of those CC dies and I said I would get mine out and find out how I used it.

I did use a Magnetic Platform and two standard plates for this rather than the standard Platform and it's slightly thicker so wondering if that made a difference.

These are the results. I have deliberately used card which can be difficult to cut. The first one with Kraft card which went through four times for a clean cut.

And the Mirri card six times for a clean cut.
Hope that's some use. I still think they are hard work to use though.

You couldn't really see these but they're new stamps by Visible image and are in the exploding basket on the left.
The black wallet at the side holds brush pens.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Angela x

Happy WOYWW. That die may be difficult to use, but the results are amazing. The little rabbit die is cute too, and the Visible Image stamps are just my style. Ali x #9

The butterfly die looks fabulous. I have a similar one I've yet to use. I have the precision plate to cut intricate dies with, and also put cutting side up and card on top,. Read this tip somewhere and it seems to help. Anne X #14

I had to chuckle cos Huggies to me are nappies and I couldn't imagine what you use those for in crafting so I'm so glad you pointed out it was wet wipes :-)
I love the butterfly cut outs.

I love your space! Everything looks so organized and close at hand. When I have a die not wanting to cut, I add a shim (piece of cardstock) to the sandwich and it helps a bit. Happy WOYWW!

Hi Angela, the BS Foldaway is great. If I'd researched a bit more, I think I'd have asked Hubby for that rather than a standard one, although I do have room on my cutting desk for it ok. Love the VI stamps, some great ones this time round. Some die cuts can be a real pain, I agree. I have a Heartfelt Creations one called Delicate Aster, and although quite beautiful, doesn't get as much use as it might due to the endless shimming/turning required to get a decent cut. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #10 X

I always wondered how those die cutters worked. The end results are always lovely.

Hi Angela! Is that a new profile pic? I really like it. I bought a few of those CC dies in the sales (but not htat butterfly one) and haven't used them yet. If they are a bit tricksy I'll go straight to the Gemini with them, that usually sorts most things. There is so much stuff around that I would like, those Visible Image ones being a case in point. I might try to resist till AP though....Happy WOYWW, Cindy #15

Hi Angela it can be so annoying when die's won't cut but I suppose there will be the occasional one that people have issues with. Those mixed media dies can be hard to work with at times but I manage eventually. Those stamps look fab... I did look at those but turned on my heal very quickly hee hee!!
Enjoy creating those Easter Cards Hugs Tracey xx

Well the butterfly die is just stunning but I don't know if I'd want to risk it not cutting well in my machine, tempting as it is. I do love the little bunny die on your desk too - I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
Have a great week,
Hugs, Diana x #17

The butterflies are stunning, especially in that gold card but I don't know if it's worth all the effort. Lovely new stash there, I like the angular rose very much.

Nice new stamps Angela. Hope you managed to make use of the discount code for them. I am still convinced that the newer CC dies are deliberately made tricky to cut in anything but a Gemini so I haven't bought any for ages. It shouldn't take 4-6 passes to cut any die. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4

I am in the process of getting rid of mot of my older dies because they are so awkward to cut cleanly, and just keeping to the Clarity Fresh Cut Dies, which cut like a dream. Life is too short to spend hours poking bits out. You seem to be having fun with everything on your desk today. xxx Maggie #19

You are so clever in what you do with those dies etc. The butterflies are really lovely. Jo

That looks a beautiful die Angela, I use Cut Tidy or a cheap Polly Pocket for my hard to cut dies! and Gemini or Snap machine..
You have some lovely stuff out to create with.

I can see the benefits of the foldaway. The regular Big Shot is so bulky, I just keep it on the floor and I have to go on my hands and knees to use it. How will I manage when I'm 80, I wonder LOL? You got a good cut in the end. It's a trial and error game sometimes to get a clean cut. Happy #511 - hope you have a good week! zsuzsa #22

Never fun to have to work so hard to get a good cut. But it is beautiful! Probably worth the hassle. Lots of goodies on your busy desk! Thanks for popping by and have a great week!

Hi Angela, that's very patient running the die through 4 or 6 times... I think j would have given up long before then. Since I bought my Gemini I haven't used my Big Shot. I have some thicker dies that I will have to dust off the Big Shot for, but I don't use them that often. Thanks for stopping by earlier, I did raise plenty of money for charity. I can't think why I never thought of taking my cards into work before- I work with about 200 people so it's always someone's birthday or anniversary, etc. Have a lovely week Heather x #32

Oooh I have one of those plates too ( but, its smaller than the machine so, I have to wiggle it into place to use with my plates) I love that you got such clean results with less trips back and forth in the machine a lot Angela :) I am half way thinking I may need to cave and buy new cut plates for mine some time as I tend to use them until they crack. ( I bet they get thinner over time before they crack too) ~Stacy #27

Years ago I concidered buying a die cutting machine but I figured I wouldn't use it much... seeing these photos I think I did well 'cause MAN that looks complicated. I do love the dies! Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day, enjoy the rest of the week and your weekend. Hug from Holland, Marit #20

Hi Angela! Love those new stamps! They look like a lot of fun! Your die cutting is gorgeous, I usually get frustrated after 2 swipes through, never thinking to keep going! I don't have any intricate dies like you do, perhaps that's just as well! Great desk today! Thanks for your visit, and have a great week, Lindart #25
