Monday Left-overs.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you how I've used more left-overs:

I had a great day at the Craft Club on Saturday and the project this month was this card design so a good chance to use up some more of those unloved papers.

Inside.

I love these papers just never got round to using them.

This Steampunk set is probably my favourite and came with the ephemera too.

Inside.
(not decided on the sentiment yet)

Loving this card and look forward to making more. Hope you like them too.

I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

I don't have a lot to show you this week but if you were around on Wednesday you will know that I've been busy in the cabin.

I'm a little further on with the Gothic Cabinet now.

I did photograph this guy who is sitting on my stone fish by the pond. I quite like him but he didn't stay too long. He visits most days and stops for a drink.

This chap arrived this week, an anniversary present from my hubby.

The park continues to attract new groups and it's babies day here. They were having Breast Feeding in the park and I'm not joking so I didn't get too close so as not to upset anyone by taking the photograph.

And a few funnies to finish.

I know how he feels. He needs to wrap them in cheese, the smelly stuff is best.

I loved this one, really made me smile.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for "This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

WOYWW - 638 - What's On your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
We are here for another Wednesday at the Workdesk and here is:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

If you're thinking the desk looks different you're right as I'm in the Cabin today working on an MDF Gothic cabinet from Hobbilicious. It has string around the top as I'm attaching the roof section.
Can't wait to get to the decorating stage.
I must say this has been so easy to put together, what clever ladies they are.

So that's me done for today.
I'm desperate to get back to this but I'll visit you all first I promise!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Masterboard Monday with Left-Overs.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard:

You may remember this from not too long ago when I made this card:

I just didn't get round to using the rest of the Masterboard so I had a play and came up with these.

It's just a bit different but still using the same stamp sets (Craft A Scope - Retro Vibes and Retro Fever).
I love the text it is quite funky and goes really well with the images. Even the little dots are included in one of the sets. I finished this with some black gems and die cut the layers to add a little more interest.

This one is very similar to the first one just slightly different wording.

And finally this one although I do still have some of the design left over so you never know what might turn up.
I think the white areas on these cards give a nice clean look to them which you need with this busy background paper.

When making masterboards I enjoy playing with different techniques without worry of what it will be used for but you've always got something at the ready for that unexpected greeting card so it's a winner both ways.

I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Friday Fun day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

I have not taken these photographs but thought you might find this interesting.

This is something we don't see very often but if you were going into Lincoln on Tuesday you may well have seen this congregation.

This was the funeral of some important Gypsies who live in a village just outside the City, mother and son.
The congregation of about four hundred people followed the carriages into Lincoln and up to the Cathedral.

They certainly know how to say goodbye.

Several floral tributes.
Because of the number of people who attended the pubs around the area were advised to stay closed that day. You can work that one out for yourselves.

This was the tree at the bottom of the street on Monday

This is the same one again on Thursday.

This was once a very large willow and it's been cut back as you can see but I knew it would fight back so we'll see how it does in a couple of weeks.

These weeds are in the park and they were not planned!
Apparently according to the workmen the new soil was contaminated, it was not supposed to be and wherever they have put it these enormous weeds have grown and they are so tall that wherever they are they restrict the view to the lake as you can see here. They are definitely taking over sadly.

The workmen have been busy putting those pieces of wood together in the park

and here is the result.

Picnic benches.

The cygnets are growing fast nearly as big as their parents now.

On Thursday there was a gang hunting for bugs in the lake. Good to see the children keeping busy during the holidays.

I must leave you there but not without a few dog funnies so here goes:
This is the mucky side of dog keeping.

It shocks me how many people let their dogs do this!
Dogs do this for one reason only and that is because as a puppy their mother would then regurgitate food for the puppy and some dogs continue to do this in the hope that their owner will do the same.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

WOYWW - 637- What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

You always seem to catch me when I'm starting a new project.

These MDF pieces were freebies from Hobbilicious but not decided what to use them for yet.

New AALL and Create stamps. The kittie papers came from a charity. The die you can just see is a Christmas tree.

The Exploding Box is close to explosion!
That black ribbon seems to have been there for a while, needs using or putting away.

Tubs of glue and Gesso at the ready.

As there is nothing exciting going on here today I'm showing you the card that I posted on Monday.
If you'd like more details you can find the tutorial here:

This is a lovely technique for using up left-over masterboards and  patterned paper.

If you visit my Monday posts I'm sorry as you may have seen this already.

So that's me done for today.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww

Masterboard Monday with Left-Overs.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Left-over Masterboard using a technique I have not used before.

Don't worry if you think this looks blurred it was the technique that I'd used.
I applied inks to the paper allowed them to run and then blotted the paper lightly.

This first card was made by Dotty Jo who directed me to the technique some time ago here done by Galina Filippenko but until now I hadn't got round to trying it out.
It is called "Rotated Inlaids".

This is the example by Galina.

So lets get started!

I found this piece among the left-overs and the colours immediately reminded me of the technique I had seen ages ago so it had to be done.

I picked out a few dies that looked the part.

And this is the first stage. Before starting to add the diecuts you need to attach this to a base card so that the diecuts have something to adhere to.

Keep all the diecuts nice and safe because you are going to need them again.

I've placed them in different positions. You will need at least two of each die cut so that you can swap them around.

And this is the first card I made.
The design is so pretty that it seems a shame to add anything else so I splattered some white paint very lightly, included a clear ribbon, gems and a sentiment then layered it with Kraft and white card and I'm sure you'll agree that's definitely finished.

This close up shows the splatters a little better.

For the second card I decided to try and add a border with yet more left-over card which had been cut into strips. I know it's crazy but I had kept them from an earlier project.

Then added another left-over piece from the project that I had stamped with a sentiment.
All layered again with Kraft and white card, finished with gems and we're good to go!

I am absolutely in love with this technique so I'm sure you will see it again sometime.
Might even give it a go with some patterned papers.

Hope you like it too.

I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Angela x
