WOYWW # 510 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Hi Workdesk friends. 
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk. 
I am here again to show you:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

So here is my desk for today!

Hi all!

Exploding box is definitely nearly there. Need a bigger basket really but would only fill it even more Lol!

I have a sweet little biscuit tin just to the right but not sure what I will use it for yet.

A few finished cards are hanging around.

Including this:

 You may remember me showing you this Masterboard which at the time I had no idea what I was going to do with it well it ended up like this:

And I've made cards with it and posted one of these on Monday, you can find it here.

The other thing I wanted to show you was the wooden stamp that was on my desk last week. 

Lots of you have asked about it and one of the things seems to be that some of you have tried these with ink.

They are really meant to be used with paint on fabric but I have tried them out with Distress Oxides with some success.

After some of you asked about these I tried stamping with the original Distress Ink on paper. 

You can get an image but I find it's best to do this over a soft surface as you can see that some of the images above have sections missing. These are very solid stamps so really need something pliable underneath to get a good image.

However I then tried Distress Oxides which seem to work better and an interesting effect can be achieved by spraying the stamp lightly with water after applying the ink to the stamp.

You can see the two effects here are quite different.

You are always going to get a textured finish when using ink straight from the container as the wood itself is textured but this tends to be lost when water is added.

Any way this is what I ended up with and I'm sure I will find some use for it.

If you use these stamps I think you need to be aware of the texture you will get, though I quite like it they are never going to behave like a rubber stamp but you do get a better image when they are used with paint just apply it lightly with a sponge.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 229 - Make it Green.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over
at Crafty Cardmakers.

 Julie is hosting today and our challenge is Make it Green .

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to be cards, as long as it meets the challenge. 

Hope you will join in.
And here is my project for the challenge:

Gorgeous stamp by  AALL and Create and the sentiment by Altenew.

The die is by Lisa Horton for Creative Expressions and the card was completed with the addition of green gems and Stickles Glitter Glue.

Can't resist decorating the back too which also shows the background to the card which was done using a stencil before applying the stamping.

The die is divided into three sections but only used two of these on this card.

The die cut and the dragonfly's wings where made using this Masterboard which was layered up using Distress Oxides, Artistic Flair stencil, text stamp and green Gilding Foil.

New plant for the sitting room.

My lovely Iris is doing well.

We've been for a walk this week ar a place called Whisby Nature Park.

Of course we had to stop for coffee and scones....it's the law Lol!

This looks like fun though we didn't give it a go!

An extra desk today as I've been sat watching TV and fussy cutting some flowers to make a Mother's Day card though not much else is different. 

The little box is still overflowing and ready to explode even though I have taken some stuff out of it.

Sorry they are at a silly angle but these are the stamps I'm using. 

I'm loving those new gems there too.

I need to get round to using these stamps too as they've been sitting here for a while.

So that's me done for today, nice and quick just how you like it!
P.S. sorry I've not got round to finishing the card from last week as other stuff was more important. Will try and finish it soon.

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard coloured with Bleeding Art tissue.

You may remember seeing other cards made earlier with part of this which can be found here: 

For this card I've cut a top layer using this die by Clarity and some extra pieces from the Masterboard to layer on the top.

Some hand drawn stitches around the edges.

A Tim Holtz sentiment die, Stickles Glitter glue and Altenew Enamel Dots to complete the design.

I've cut the sentiment two times and layered them up to create a shadow.

You can see the Stickles Glitter glue better here.

So that's my Masterboard card for today, hope you like it and hope my girl friend will too.

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Saturday I went to the Craft Club and for some reason it was packed out, more people than usual.

It's great to see so many people and all the different crafts they do and here are some of the knitters.

This lady is needle felting, what concentration!

My desk with cards I'm working on and the all important cuppa and a biscuit! Got to keep your strength up!

We also had a tutorial for this card which some of you will have seen me working on.

Basically you fold the centre first, cut one side down the middle and the other side is cut at a quarter of the card at both edges.

Using a 6"x 6" card is probably the easiest to start you off.

Once you've done that you twist one side in the opposite direction to give the shape you have here and then decorate it. The centre will pop up all on it's own, how clever is that!

And this was the one you saw me working on my desk on Wednesday though not finished yet.

The next Craft Club is going to be a workshop with a lady called Martine who also does workshops for Oyster Stamps so looking forward to that.

It's been an interesting week with walks in the park and we were being watched too.

And he/she just had to get a better look!

The weather's been mixed up here in the UK and so warm that we had some foggy mornings in the park.

Having got back from the walk Maisie decided it was time for a nap, still wearing her jacket however, she seems unable to decide which knee she wants to sit on Lol!

 Finally just wanted to show you one of my Christmas presents which is just starting to bloom on the kitchen window. 
Tiny little Iris flowers, now how sweet are they.

Hopefully you'll get to see them in full bloom next week.

So there you have it just a few of the things that have made me smile this week. I think Maisie was my favourite though.
