Crafty Cardmakers # 242 - Add a Criter.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over
at Crafty Cardmakers.

Judy is hosting today and our challenge is 'Add a Criter'.

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to be cards, as long as it meets the challenge.

Hope you will join in.
And here is my project for the challenge:

You can't help but love these Crazy Dogs by Tim Holtz.

And of course there are cats too.
Stamped several of these and then coloured them ready for cutting out with the matching dies.

If you saw me using the 'Press n Seal' before here's another use for it.
I've made cards like this before and always have problems getting the dogs positioned exactly how I want them as when you turn the card over to attach them they tend to move so here I have positioned them and then placed a sheet of the 'Press n Seal' over the top to keep them in place.

When you turn them over there is no movement and I can work on all of them at the same time to attach them.

I then placed a piece of coloured card to cover the back of this design.

The clock shapes were cut using this Tim Holtz die, the clock stamp is by Sam Poole, the sentiment by Lisa Horton for Creative Expressions and Distress Oxide inks for the background.

I've also added one of the dogs to the inside of the card and made up a sentiment here using stamps by Francoise Read for Woodware and Technique Tuesday.

So there you have it all finished and ready to go.

I hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the DT have been up to and maybe join in the challenge.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with too.
 Happy crafty card making.

Friday Fun Day.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

It felt a bit sad really seeing the old shed come down but it had to be done.

I am thinking however that I might be able to reuse the chairs so we'll see.

All ready now for the new concrete to arrive.

And here it is. I can't start to tell you how brilliant this guy was. When we've had cement before they just dumped it on the front and were gone but this company mix it on site and then barrow it to where you need it and if he finds you don't need as much as you thought that's fine you just pay for what you actually need. We probably saved about a£100.00, amazing!

And here it is all done.

And the following day all nice and set.
Now what do you suppose that's for Lol!

Will this give you an extra clue?

I had to show you this too.
Now I'm not a lover of slugs but this chap was hiding amongst the wood and he's massive. I put my secateurs next to him to give you an idea of the size.

Maybe this will give you an idea too.
This is my hubby's hand which is quite big and as you can see the slug takes up a good part of it even though it's tucked up a bit.

Stan decided that all this was far to tiring and managed to find something to lay his head on.

Later he moved into the conservatory and used some clothes to put his head on.
Gosh it's a dog's life.
Maisie just disappeared out of the way.

So as not to disappoint anyone I'll finish with a few Steampunk pics.

Pirates.

And the pets joined in too.

Hope you enjoyed those.
It really was a gorgeous day that I took these photographs.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

WOYWW: 538 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

Not too bad today considering I'm about to start on a couple of projects.

Half made card here.

Some hand coloured papers which I made ages ago with shaving cream and inks. I'm hoping to use these to make a card soon.
The red net is there for another technique but you'll have to wait for that one.

These are some Christmas cards....yes I've started making them though not got very far yet.

I did make a couple of cards at the weekend which you might like and you can find them here.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
I am here today to show you two cards made with some left-over Masterboard:

The cards today were made with a small piece of card, some stamps, oxide inks, stickles glitter glue and dies.

The coloured card is a small piece of the left-over Masterboard that I used here from which I took small pieces to fit behind the die cut butterfly and dragonfly. I applied the sentiment directly to the card.

On the card above I added more colour by placing Distress Oxides onto a stamping block and applied this directly to the card blank, one colour at a time.
Some stamped images completed the design and then Stickles Glitter Glue was added to the dragonflies.

As shown here I added some of the colour around the back of the card too. This prevents a sharp finish on the fold.

Here you can see clearly the effect of the Stickles Glitter Glue on the Dragonfly and the Butterfly.

If you only have a small amount of card you can still make a card with techniques like this.

I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Friday fun Day.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Now this may come as a bit of a shock for some of you!

All this came out of my lovely old shed at the bottom of the garden.
It must be a Tardis! (For anyone who doesn't watch UK TV the Tardis is Doctor Who's Space ship which is bigger on the inside than the outside) or how did he get all of this in there.
I wonder if any of you know what the word TARDIS stands for?

Ladders next! You may start to wonder what is happening!

This may give you a clue but you will have to come back next week to see what happens.
Him in-doors is now out of doors working on this and I have been keeping him refreshed with drinks and snacks so not much else has been done but I'm sure you will enjoy the next collection of Steampunk pics, so here we go.

So much work goes into making these and how amazing.

Gorgeous lady. I got this photograph almost by accident as she was walking past, love it.

Wearing a fabulous dress.

How sweet are these two.

I asked them to do a pose for me and mum joined in. You've got to love them.

Just a few more beautiful people having a great time.

Great costume, loving the brolly.

She posed for me with a close-up of the nails.

I think that's enough for today but I still have loads to show you.

For now, wishing you a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for

WOYWW: 537 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

At the weekend I had a mad panic and thought I wouldn't be able to post today as Google said I had run out of space for my photographs and would not be able to upload anything on my blog or Gmail but as you can see I've sorted it at least for now.

The desk is not quite so tidy today as I've been busy making new Masterboards.
  • The box on the right is part of my collection of  'Spectrum Noir' AquaTints Watercolour Inks. These produce the most gorgeous vivid colours.
  • The exploding box is filling up again but still manageable at the moment.
  • The pencil case on the left holds felt tip pens but not sure what they're doing out.
  • I've been using large salt crystals which are the blue tub at the back and the ever useful Gesso by it's side.
  • There's a rather cute little easel on the left too which is useful when photographing cards.
  • The project on the desk is part of one of the new Masterboards but you'll get to see what I've done with these soon I'm sure.
If you didn't see the card I posted Monday I think you might like it and the technique using the Press and Seal again. I showed you this product some time ago and I don't want to tease you without showing you how I use the stuff so you can find it here including the tutorial for making the card.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge # 241 - Autum Colours.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over
at Crafty Cardmakers.

Marg is hosting today and our challenge is  Autumn Colours.

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to be cards, as long as it meets the challenge.

Hope you will join in.
And here is my project for the challenge:

If you look closely you might even recognise some of the papers as they are all bits of left-over Masterboard that I've used before just perfect for die cutting these Tim Holtz leaves.

I always admire people who make CAS cards as I think it's one of the most difficult styles to make them look complete and generally when I do them I feel there is something missing but this card worked for me....than goodness!

So I took the left-over Masterboards and die cut them using a Tim Holtz die then positioned then and put a piece of Press and Seal over the top to stop them moving.

Then placed the frame dies in position.

Die cut the sections

Then remove the centre. This can be kept for use on another card.

Keeping the dies in position I placed the design onto the card blank and then into my Misti. Next arrange the sentiment stamp.

Then stamp onto the card blank.

Turn the design over and attach the sticky dots and remove the backings.

Attach the whole design to the card blank and remove the Press and Seal.

I added some Peel Off stickers to complete the design.

I hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the DT have been up to and maybe join in the challenge.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with too.
 Happy crafty card making.
