WOYWW # 260 What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Hi WOYWW friends,  hope you are all well on this special day lol!

Here we are again for another week on my desk and desks throughout the world, brought to you by our host Julia at the Stamping Ground.

But this week is extra special as it is..........drum role!!!....

           The WOYWW's 5th birthday.

Don't know what I am babbling on about? then visit the Stamping Ground and all will be revealed.

And here is my desk offering for this week.
You guessed it... ATCs are the order of the day.
I made this Masterboard some weeks ago and it started off looking like this:

I have made a greeting card with part of it and the remaining card to make the anniversary ATCs.

 

I used some satin board to cut the numbers which were to be the focal point for the ATCs, using a Tim Holtz die.

 

I had not originally intended making envelopes to go with the cards

but as there was plenty of paper I decided to add those too.

Steampunk Father's Day Card.

Hi Blogbuddies, this is unusual for me but I have already completed a Father's Day card lol!
The thing that makes it unusual is that I am normally on the last legs yet it is still only May lol!
I had an idea for a Father's Day Pop-up box card but thought I had better be sure so decided to start it early.
I wanted it manly so decided to make it in a Steampunk style using metallic effect card.
I am entering this in SanDee and Amelie's Steampunk Challenge for May which is called "Heavy Metal", I have just enough time to enter.
Anyway here it is:

I have used mostly Tim Holtz dies to create the gears, lock, key plate, keys etc. though I have added a few gears cut with Spellbinders dies.

 

 

 

I wanted to create texture on the gears so added Tim Holtz glitter as seen below.

To begin with I used the Glue and Seal to attach the glitter but found the sticky embossing powder worked better for this technique.

I then rubbed over the glitter using Black Soot distress ink giving it an aged appearance.

 

For the main part of the card, I embossed it using a Sue Wilson embossing folder.

After embossing, I darkened the card by running over the surface with Black Soot distress ink, applied with a blending tool.

 

I then started to layer up the elements I had already prepared

and also used a Tim Holtz embossing folder to give texture to the layering card.

 

This is what the card looks like when folded flat.

 

And a few close-ups of the finished box card.

I stamped the sentiment onto grey mottled card, mounted that onto mirror card and attached it on the top back section.

 

 

I completed the card with the addition of crystal gems and a Shisha mirror on the large gear at the back.

 

I hope you like this and obviously that my father will too.
Please don't tell him you have seen it lol!

Prima Cartographer Papers, Accordion Card.

Hi Blog Friends here again to show you another project using the Prima Cartographer Papers that Ali sent me.

Just a reminder, here is the set:

 

And the die.

Clear instructions are given regarding how to put this card together and it is fairly easy to do.

Then it's up to you how to decorate it.

 

I began by cutting out the sections from the die and matting and layering the images from the set that I had decided to include.

 

And here is the finished card.

The back of the map sheet is white which allowed me to use the stamp to decorate the back.

I also used the paper flowers to add interest to the front cover.

Prima Seashore Paper Pad.

Hi Bloggies  been using the Prima Seashore papers again.

The card blank is craft card style and I used cork sheet and gold mirror card to mount the topper, which was cut from a 12"x 12" sheet.
There are so many great images that can be used as focal points.

 

The bunting was cut using a Tim Holtz, On the Edge die called Pennants, strung onto a Creative Expressions Bakers Twine and completed with Crystal Gems.

I had these craft mirrors in my stash which I thought would look good on the Lighthouse as the real ones also have reflective glass.

Hope it does the trick?

Not sure where I got the mirrors from but they are Shisha mirrors used in Asian embroidery and are available at Hobbicraft and other craft stores.

 

The sentiment was a sticker from the pad and the anchor badge is from the collection too, it comes with a small stamp which makes lovely flowers.

 

Although I haven't made the flowers for this project I thought you might like to see what they look like.

You can just see the stamp at the top left and the flower shapes that I stamped and cut out.
I used buff and green coloured card for these and then edged them with the distress inks shown.

 

The close-up shows the detail of the stamp better.

 

And here are the finished flowers which have had some Stickles Glue added.

 

Don't know what you think but I love them, just have to find something to use them with now lol!

 

I hope you like the finished card, it certainly was quick to make and sometimes that just what you need!

Prima Seashore Set

Hi Bloggie Mates   more cards using the Prima Seashore collection.
I've really been on a roll with these.
The papers just have so much detail that it's easy to come up with lovely cards.

And here is the card.
I know how much people are enjoying the Pop-up cards at the moment that I decided to make another.
Apart from using some black card in the inside, some acetate and stickles glue, I didn't use anything other than what came with the collection.
The clouds were cut out using a Memory Box Die.

This shows the bottom part of the box while it is still flat.

 and also some flowers which I made using one of the stamps from the collection.

 

This image shows the card when it is foldd flat to go into an envelope.

 

The card as viewed from above shows the inside of the box.

It's almost impossible to see the acetate which is holding the clouds in their elevated position.

 

And here is the card ready to make some lucky person happy, I hope!

WOYWW 259 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Some deskers, well quite a lot actually wanted to see more drawers, desk drawers that is Lol! so here is another little peek:

The black case below the drawer, holds a variety of metal embellishments, quite a lot are by Tim Holtz.

Here we have glitters, glazes and stickles, pretty things Lol! 
 

 

3D sticker sheets, glues etc.

 

 

And finally, embossing powders. Where would we be without them.

 

 

 

 

 You may be asking, where are the inks, well I keep those in a trolley which I love as I can move them around to where I need them.

It is actually a vegetable rack on wheels but very useful as storage.

 
 
And here is what my desk actually looks like this week.
There are a few new things as I went to Sincerely Yours at Newark on Sunday.
I am working on some birthday cards as I am fed-up of having to make them at the last minute and these are some that I have already started.

 

I am using the Lindsay Mason stamps Doo Lally Pip as I felt like making something a bit different from what I would normally do and they are good fun.

I am hoping to use up some papers in my stash to make more room for the new stuff so I am stamping and cutting out parts of the design to layer onto the main stamped image.
I have already glazed the dress and hope to have these finished in a couple of days plus others.

The Adventures of BP Mini Me.

Hi, BP here.
I got a bit fed-up as she has been so busy I have been left all on my own so thought I would... you guessed it, Go Walkabout.
Look who I found...
 

Apparently they had been put on the window sill behind the sofa which is why I hadn't noticed them before but she was tidying up and moved them.
They don't say much which I find strange as the other bird that used to live here never shut up especially when anyone was on the phone.
She was for ever apologising for the noise he made, but we still miss him.

I am quite amazed at the new things I continue to find, there's no wonder he keeps telling her they need a clear out but hope she ignores him or they may clear me out too Lol!
and we don't want that do we.

Anyway hope you have enjoyed another look into my home and I will be back again soon, who knows what else I may find.

Prima Cartographer Papers - Tag Book and Wallet.

Hi Blog friends,  here to show you more projects using the Prima Cartographer Papers.
These are available at Ali-Craft.
And this is the set I have been using.

 

The first project I would like to show you today is a Tag Note Book.

                                                                    The Front.
You can just see some of the inner pages which I decorated using the stamp that Ali sent me.
The only extra things I used were: ribbon, white paper and the dome stickers, everything else came from the pad.

 

 

                             And the Back.

 

 

 

Having made this I quite fancied a wallet to store it in and made it using the Faux Leather technique that many of you will have seen Sheena Douglas use.

However instead of using plain craft card, I did it on a sheet of the card from the pad.

And here it is.

 

 

 

The pocket is stamped on unbleached calico fabric and then sewn on to the card during it's construction.

 

 

 

 

To Make this :

• Spray the card with the glycerin/water mixture to soften it and keep crinkling the paper and reapplying the glycerin until you get the effect that looks like chamois leather.
• You need to be careful that it doesn't rip, but the odd cut doesn't matter as it is lined inside.
• Allow it to dry a little and then go over it with any brown distress ink which will be picked up by the creases.

 

• I have used an an embossing folder with mine but that is up to you.

 

• You should then seal the ink using a spray glue or apply one with a brush this also serves to strengthen the card.

 

• I stamped a large piece of calico big enough to line the inside and make a pocket. I glued the lining to the inside before putting the whole thing together.

 

 

 

• The back section is longer than the front to allow for the flap.

• I attached metal fasteners and then joined everything together by machining them.
• As I had a little of the card left over, I also made two tags which can be seen in the pocket.

The set is really good value for money. I made five projects using the pad and still have card and stickers left over.
