WOYWW- 740 - What's On your Workdesk Wednesday.

Hi Workdesk friends. 
We are here for another Wednesday at the Workdesk and here is:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

So here is my desk for today!

My desk looks tidy again this week but that's only because I've just finished my project for the next Masterboard Monday. 

Even the exploding boxes don't look too bad.

I'm trying to get ahead of myself as we are going away for a while at the end of the month and it will be here before we know it. 

Before that happens I have a class to plan for the Craft Club and the day after that is the Steampunk Festival so that weekend is going to be crazy busy.

I do have some balloon dogs waiting to be painted ready for another card I'm making soon.

In the left hand corner I have some new blending sponges which come in these very useful containers.

There really aren't any other things that are different from last week.

This was on Kate Cranes facebook page and looks interesting.

And here is the last card I made.

It's not on my desk today but it was at the beginning of the week and thought you might like gto see it.

Masterboard Monday.

 Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard:

This is the Masterboard that I showed you last week here:

This is the second time I've used this technique with washi tape and I kept looking at this Masterboard and wondering if there was some way to use the white sections in a different way and this is what I came up with.

So here goes. 

For the new card I've used the white sections to stamp the sentiments. Really pleased with the way it looks and I used the Kate Crane stamps too for the Bunting and the Birthday Cake.

And I can't resist adding a little something to the inside of the card too.

So that's it for today, nice and quick though you may well see this Masterboard again soon.

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

 Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Heckington Show pics this week.

This is the largest village show in England...well it is now! When we first came to Lincoln in 1988 it was much smaller but has grown so much that now it has taken over several acres of the farmer's fields but was originally just in the village recreation ground.

Anyway here goes and I'm starting with some specials for my dear America friends, hope you're around today Elizabeth.

I might say I was actually forced into this but it's good fun to join in.

The Indians were selling interesting handmaded gifts.

The clouds were dark off and on all day but it didn't rain until much later, after we got home.

This was the guy who persuaded me to have the photo taken and I didn't want to upset him as he was sat right next to the jail!

They certainly go to a lot of trouble setting all this up.

And you can see they enjoy dressing up for the reenactments.

The next few are a little more based on the activities of pour own country.

Very few people have coal fires now but I do remember the Chimney Sweep going to my parents and sweeping the Chimney years ago.

Tractors next obviously! these are very old but it's nice to see them.

This is where the Shows differ. 

As this is a village show you will see more collectables and the kind of practices that the farmers wives and children might have got involved in and some still do.

In the larger agricultural shows you would see new tractors and other farm machinery being advertised by the companies that sell them.

This was one of the plant and fruit tents.

Beautiful Roses for sale.

Gorgeous Cauliflowers in the competition. As allotments are still very popular throughout the county these would probably have been grown by gardeners rather than commercial growers though it is true to say that they will sell some of what they grow but it's small scale. I should have some of my own to show you soon but not sure they'll be as good as these as I've never grown them before.

Flower competition.

I fear my carrots will never look as good as these.

Parsnips too.

Lots of sheep!

I like these ones with the black markings.

These are a particular type of sheep common to Lincolnshire.

I wonder if you can guess what their name is?

As you can see they have very long woolly coats.

And goats too.

There were other animals but I think that's enough for today.

So I'll finish with some smiles.

This was Alfie when we got back from the show. 

I think he was tired! I have to keep remembering that he is only a baby. He will be ten month old this week.

Not sure what this position is but he seems to like it. 

I have seen even Giant Schnauzers sitting like this.

And Daisy was tired too.

I know these aren't the usual funnies but I'm sure they will make you smile all the same.

I have lots of photographs from the show but will save some for next week.

So here is my desk for today!

The desk looks tidy but the exploding box or even boxes do not!

I am working on something for the Craft Club at the moment.

Which looks like this but not finished.

The inside will have a pop up mechanism but you will have to wait to see that I'm afraid but hopefully it wont be too long until I get it completed.

I made this card at the Craft Club on Saturday.

And finished the new Masterboard too. Details on my Monday post here: as yet no cards made with it but hopefully soon.

So that's me done for today.

However I had to show you this which arrived in the post thanks to Susan Renshaw from Calling All Crafters.

Masterboard Monday.

 Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you another new Masterboard:

All finished and ready to go.

Instructions for making as follows:
Start here:

And you're ready to start.

You could put tape round the outside edge too though I haven't tried that yet.

I scribbled on some pencil lines and then added colour both Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Oxides with a blending tool.

Spray it with some drops of water and dab it with some spare card.

Which will give you this lovely patterned card and some washed out spots.

I'm sure we'll find a use for the mop up card.

Next some detail with a stencil and white ink to tone it down.

Perfect or what?

Well I like it Hee! Hee!

A close up also shows the black splashes added and the scribbled lines were used as a guide to adding white free hand details.

And we're back to the finished Masterboard.

You need to remove the Washi tape gently. Pull it towards you keeping it flat with itself do not try to remove it by pulling upwards. This will more or less prevent it pulling any of the surface off the card.....more or less that is!

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Now what do you suppose is going on here!

There you go it's Alfie looking for Daisy.

 

She's been to the vet's for spaying and some little dewclaws removed from her back feet.

And now she's resting but Alfie is missing her and wants to know what's going on.

She certainly is comfortable.

While Daisy was resting I was busy gardening.

I picked the carrots above. The two top ones were very friendly to each other!

This was interesting. 

Two mole hills had been removed and the holes were open. We can't be sure but we think it might have been the fox that did it.

We had so much rain that the pond had filled right up to the top. Never seen it so full.

So rather than wait for more rain we decided to let some water out.

Better to do this than risk the fish ending up on the garden.

It's a nightmare I had for a long time after driving past a garden years ago where there was flooding and their koi were swimming round the garden. That is scary!

I've been doing some trimming of plants too and planting some more salad stuff while it was dry. My cauliflowers are doing well too and when it was wet I was indoors doing some crafting which you can see on the Monday post here:

We did go to see my mum but she hadn't slept very well and was tired so we didn't stay very long. We had a message from  the British Heart Foundation to say they had sold some of the things we gave them from my mum's and had made £750.00 so far which we thought was pretty good.

But that's about it for today so I'll leave you with some funnies.

I showed these to Daisy....she was not impressed!

Luckily we've not had to use the cone on Daisy. She had no interest in the Spaying stitches just the Dewclaw bandages.
