WOYWW 291# What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Back again for another Wednesday.

Angela here to show you:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the
Stamping Ground and our dear host Julia will explain and all will be revealed.

So here is my desk this week but before that:

I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year for tomorrow.

I am planning a cover for one of my journals and thought I might use some Tyvek as part of the design, not played with it for a while but we'll see, not sure yet Lol!

Tyvek comes in a variety of forms, as fabric and the other looks more like paper.
If you would like to see what I make you will have to pop back in the new year.
That is when I have tidied the desk and made enough room to work Lol!

Right! now I'm off to see what everyone else has been up to.
Hope you will visit them too.
Thanks for popping round and have a great week.
And once again, Happy WOYWW New Year to you all for tomorrow,
Angela x

Your desk looks nice and busy to see in the New Year, Angela! Tyvek is brilliant stuff, although over-priced in the form you've got it, packaged as an art supply. Our local builder gave me a huge piece of roofing felt (not specifically Tyvek but a generic variety) - "fabric" type, which is brilliant for book binding because it is impossible to tear it, and it is flexible, and takes paint well too. It melts in a Tyvek-like way which is great (have you tried this yet - it does wonderful things!!). As for the "paper" type Tyvek, I recently bought a pack of 20 large Tyvek envelopes from Ebay, giving me 20 A4 sheets and 40 more smaller ones (allowing for the envelope seam on the back) - I worked it out at about 14p a sheet. You can always source stuff much cheaper than from art suppliers with a bit of lateral thinking!

Not sure if you have an electronic cutting machine, but the "paper" Tyvek cuts like butter and you can get extremely fine detail with it. Don't try cutting it with a punch though - it jams in the punch - I had to get a screwdriver to force the punch apart lol!!

Happy New Year and happy WOYWW,

Thanks for your return visit, Angela - yes, you'll need to sit down with a cup of tea to get through my annual review lol lol!! I love doing these reviews because it is so encouraging, seeing what I've actually managed to achieve despite all the other stuff in my life which seems hell-bent on preventing any creativity at all lol! (See my other annual review, separated because there was too much stuff for one post) and you'll see what I mean!

I don't know where you textile gals would be wohtou to the brilliant Tyvek! Theonly time I've ever used it was when I worked in printing and when Weiss a Tyvk dry wall lining!
love the fairy work you've shown in your side bar for Lavinia.
