Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".
If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the
Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.
So here is my desk for today!
This almost looks tidy!
The stamps are by Paper Artsy.
And the start of this Masterboard by ME!
Made this by screwing up a sheet of wax paper then opening it up and ironing onto the card. When this is done take a blending tool and add the Distress Oxides. When you buff this with a dry cloth the areas where the wax touched the card will have created a resist and the white squiggly lines are left as you can see here.
On the left are some old stamps and lots of Christmas dies waiting for me to decide which ones to use.
And on the right some new stamps by Jane Davenport, nice tin they come in too.
So that's me done for today.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.
I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,
Angela xXx

I really love your latest masterboard and it was great to hear how you achieved it.

Love those eyes by Jane Davenport - am now covered in envy.
What a delightful background you have achieved with the wax resist - I love resist but now I don't make cards I rarely do it. I just realise I could easily do it in my journal - bet I forget before I create again.
Have a good week Angela
Hugs, Neet 2 xx
Well, that wax resist background is just fabulous - how clever is that? You really do something interesting and unusual things and I enjoy seeing the techniques that you use :-D. It made me laugh at about the new stamps too as I often prefer the tin to the contents!!

Gorgeous effect on your masterboard and I love the subtle colours. Those eye stamps are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing. Have a good week. God Bless. Caro x (#16)
You make it all sound so easy and I know it's not!! Such a pretty effect. xx Jo
Hi Angela. What fun shapes those stamps are - and I LOVE that master board - you are just SO good at them - and would you look at those eyes gazing at us!
Take care. God bless.

I've used that technique before, but never used dioxides or considered creating a masterboard. MUST give this a try because I'm convinced masterboards are the way to go if you are making lots of cards. Happy WOYWW from # 1 thanks to Helen.
Love the wax paper effect on your new masterboard! I was at a Stamp & Scrapbook Expo this past weekend and it seems faces and eyes are the rage right now. Your stamps are gorgeous! Have a great week!

HI Angela, I love the colors in that background and I had seen those eye stamps online so, its fun to see them on your desk in the tin. they look like they are a good size :) ~Stacy #29
What a great way to get a random resist effect Angela. Funny how those stamps keep popping up on people's desks lol. Have a great week. Sarah #4

I'm a sucker for nice packaging and those lovely stamps gazing at me from a tin just about make it a perfect purchase!! Wonderful idea for the resist masterboard, love the randomness of the finish.
I love that background, very subtle! And yes, I too love it when goodies come in a nice package... the tin is wonderful! Thanks for your visit to my blog earlier - yes, patchwork and embroidery on clothes is back, my son will be totally 'cool' and 'hip' in his jeans ;) Have a great week. Love from Holland, Marit #23
Love the background, happy accidents can sometimes make the best things! You craft in a space like my mom's lol, I can't do that I have to clean up and put away between each project. I guess I'm a little ocd like that haha! Thanks for the visit!

What a neat way to do a background! Must try it! Love those JDavenport eyes - hopefully they are at Michael's! Have a great week, and thanks for your visit! Lindart #25
Great masterboard, Angela, and thanks for the explanation as to the 'how-to'!
HI Angela, I love your masterboard so far, what a great technique. Also love the look of your new JD stamps, very nice that they come in a tin :o) Annie C #21
Just desk hopping to get to know who is who. You are all so passionate and creative.
Oh my goodness, Angela, that waxed paper technique is awesome! I love the result and simply must try this. The colours are so beautifully subtle, too. Just fabulous.
Thank you for your visit and I'm really sorry for the delay in replying - had a very busy and exhausting week and have a load of emails and blog comments mounting up. At least I've got in a reply before the launch of the next WOYWW - well, just! Again I haven't had any studio time but I'm getting fired up again to finish the box(es) project and have been mugging up on Youtube again re the construction. I hope to get some time this week bu we'll have to see. It never seems to let up these days...
Happy extraordinarily belated WOYWW!

I've just tried your wax resist technique this evening, Angela, and I couldn't get it to work. I used freezer paper and afterwards realised it said "plastic coated" on the box, which is why it hardly melted at all. Can you tell me where you got your waxed paper from? I keep scraps of backing sheets for self-adhesive labels etc. but they didn't seem to work, either! Anyway, I've put a link to this post on my blog.

Thank you for your reply re the waxed paper, Angela - I shall certainly look for that. I've got the plastic one and it really didn't work!!
