Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.
Plenty of gardening still taking place, mostly leaf collection. It has cooled down this week too.

Still lots of leaves to fall yet and it will be good when they've finished.

Thought you might like to see what is going on over the fence.

You may wonder what the white barrier is.
Considering they said that the flood level here is only 1. they have built this barrier as the other side of this land has standing water all the time which overflows at times.
I really am wondering what the council are thinking of and where else they will build houses next!

This photograph gives more idea of the distance the building is from us. You can just see the fence in the bottom right corner.
We shall watch what happens here with interest.

Park walk continues and it's looking very pretty in the sun.

Still no change here, the pavement work continues.

The toadstools continue to get bigger.

There are Toadstools and mushrooms all over the park.
I really like this little group.

While you are reading this I will be with a group of friends making Christmas cards but if I don't get to see you before starting, I will be round to check on you all this evening.

Maisie and Stan of course don't care what's going on out there as long as they have somewhere cosy for their afternoon nap.

They say that you might enjoy these taken from their doggy bible.

Sounds like Stan!

Probably Stan again!

More like Maisie though she prefers scratching at stuff.

That's dogs for you!

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

I’m enjoying watching the building progress but would like to see Mr Fox playing in the foreground still. I bet he sneaks around at nighttime still. Love the funnies. Every day I gather up Millys toys and put them in her toy box ....for her to fetch them back out the next evening 😂😂😂
Hugs,

Well I wouldn't consider buying a property quite so close to standing water, barrier or no! But I am interested to see what they build there.
The park is looking lovely but all those toadstools are odd. perhaps it is becuase the soil has been disturbed so much over the year, it has brought the spores to the surface.
I smiled at Stanand maisie dozing in a warm spot. That is our two nealy all day!
The funnies have a bit too much truth in them, but they still make me smile.
I hope you enjoyed your card making session. Kate x

I hope they new owners of the houses are aware they are so near standing water. I wouldn't like it. In Bristol they have built on a flood plane. It used to be practice grounds for the Bristol Rovers football club. And it didn't matter that it occasionally flooded. But they have sold it and an entire housing estate was built on it! How stupid!
I love the photo of Maisie and Stan.
Those toadstools are amazing! I have never seem them like that.
And I had a chuckle at those dog funnies.
Have a lovely weekend,
Hugs,
Lisca

Sorry I'm so late visiting. Too much Thanksgiving yesterday and another one today has me thinking I will need to go on a diet tomorrow.

What a mess with that new housing project. I'm amazed there aren't zoning laws. I hope there will be a disclosure agreement before anyone decides to buy there. Buyer beware, I fear.

Those toadstools are the most unique ones I have ever seen. So glad you had your camera with you.

Stan and Maisie sure look cute sleeping. And those are adorable dog funnies, too. Hope you are having a great weekend, dear.

Hi Angela, great post. I don't understand why Councils continue to give permits to build on flood plains. And I understand even less why anyone would want to buy these houses. It's happened here in Ayr, incredibly expensive houses built right beside the shire in a know flood area - we call it Millionaire's Row - and that despite local people warning against it!

I've never seen anything like those toadstool mounds. They really are weird but the orange ones are much nicer.

Stan and Maisie look so comfy there. And, having had dogs in the past, the funnies are spot on.

Have a lovely weekend. Elizabeth x

I will have to start joining in Friday smiles although I would have search somewhere for funnies! Yours really made me smile and they are so true! Well, apart from the top one, my dogs are good about getting off the sofa when asked - the trouble is guests don’t like to ask🤣 . Those toadstool clumps are very unusual, I prefer the elegant clusters around the base of trees, I always fancy doing some art work of them, but nothing so far! I think those flood defences would make me worried! Areas near us that always have had water, have doubled and trebled their size over the years we have been here. I feel so sorry for people who cannot get flood insurance and have got flooded more than once. Have a great weekend x

Wow what a lot of leaves for you to collect Angela and yes it will be great when they are all down now x. Thanks for the update with what's going on over the fence. Intrigued about the 'flood' barrier. The toadstools look amazing x. I hope the crafting with friends went well and Maisie and Stan sure do know how to relax x.

Wowza - the mushrooms and toadstools are amazing. Your climate is obviously very moist there! Are any edible? I'm a huge mushroom fan!

I'm a bit slow catching up. I do hope the building works doesn't alter where the water goes and you find it headed your way. Great pictures of the fungi. Those toadstools give me the shivers! xxx
