Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

This is a photograph through my conservatory window and that is quite a lot of Magpies.
As a child we hardly ever saw them but as the law made it illegal to remove the eggs of wild birds they have increased substantially and as you can see we have quite a few here.

And our poor park!

It continues to look like a disaster area and probably will for some time. They have removed most of the edging stones.

And they are chopping away many of the trees too which are breaking up the edge of the pond.

This photograph above shows that they are securing the edge of the embankment where they removed the concrete edging.

Due to the mess around the pond we are changing our walking route and I thought you might like this house that we passed. There are many older properties in Lincoln with interesting designs.

We have had some very cold days and the pond started to freeze but it's more or less back to normal now. It doesn't effect the fish due to the depth of the pond.

To finish a fe funnies for you.
Enjoy x

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

We have a lot of magpies around here too but I've never seen so many together in one tree before....I always say the rhyme but I have no idea what 13 means lol. I'm sure your park will look much better when finished but what a mess at the mo for you to walk around. Love the dog funnies as always.
Hugs,
Annie x

I'm a bit late for woyww - but enjoyed seeing your treeful of magpies - the same round here. We never saw them as kids - unless a farmer had strung them up on a wire - ugh!!

I have never seen so many magpies in one place. We used to say it was unlucky to see just one, so you should have plenty of luck. (I don't actually believe in luck. We have to make our own good fortune most of the time).
The park does look a mess right now but it will probably be fine by the summer.
I used to like watching the koi swimming below the ice on our pond, and the cats slipping about on the surface trying to touch them. Fortunately they didn't seem to be heavy enough to send shock waves through the water. The fish all survived.
That is a rather beautiful house. I have never visited your neck of the woods. Kate x

Yes, those are a lot of magpies. They are very intelligent and know 'where their bread is buttered'. Like gulls, they are taking over urban areas.
The park certainly is in a mess, but it will all look lovely come spring.
Lovely to see the koi under the ice. It doesn't seem to bother them.
Your dog funnies made me chuckle. Especially Every home should have one.
Have a lovely weekend,
Stay safe,
Hugs,
Lisca

I’m leaving this generic message so you don’t think I’m a flake. I didn’t feel good Friday, and when I woke, the entire area around the eye that got damaged last summer had swollen so badly, I couldn’t open it. After speaking with the vision specialist, the soonest I can get in is Monday morning. I am not to wear the eye patch I was given in case it might exacerbate the swelling, but I am to take the eyedrops I was given from before. Thanks for understanding why I haven’t been to visit you.
