WOYWW 591 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the
Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

I'm in the middle of making a Halloween card and the exploding box has got worse as I have too many jobs on the go and haven't had time to sort it.
The only thing that is different from last week is that little white box which has some brads and stuff that I am going to use on the baby journal when I get back to it.

I have to show you these, guess Shaz Wolf would call it enabling.

The Craft Box were having a clear out and offering some of their Mystery Boxes for £9.99 so I thought I'd give it a go and I was shocked and utterly surprised by the size of the box that arrived and the mountain of stuff that was in it.
There is far more than I can show you here but all I can say is that it was definitely value for money though of course you don't know what you'll get but I do know the kind of things they sell.

Beautiful papers, moulds, flowers, trinkets, gems, washi tape, ribbon, paint, stencils, glitter, just so much.

This is only a tiny amount of what was in the box and I really should have photographed it as I took the stuff out but I was too excited when I opened it.

There really is a wide variety of stuff in here.

Now before I forget, Julia noticed the flying things hanging from the drawers which she hadn't noticed before though they have been there for a very long time Lol!
They serve no purpose other than the fact that I like them and picked them up at one of the County shows that we go to, years ago.
I am fond of bats as we have some which appear in the garden usually about October time though photographing them is almost impossible....no it is impossible! They are tiny Pipistrelles and it's lovely to watch them diving for insects at dusk.
So there you go Julia.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 264 - Shabby Chic.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers.

I'm hosting today and our challenge is Shabby Chic.

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to be cards as long as it meets the challenge.

Hope you will join in.
And here is my project for the challenge:

I so love these papers and dies by Crafter's Companion though printed papers are not something I use very often.

Just perfect for this challenge and to be honest I'm trying to use up some forgotten stash too.

I gradually built this together layering the sections and used a Tim Holtz distressing tool to grunge the edge and some dark grey paints splashed onto the surface to grunge it up even more.

I used plain card for the border die cuts, choosing a colour which matched with some of those on the printed paper and black for the die cut flowers (Tim Holtz dies).

The text image is cut from the printed paper and a little shading was added at the back before attaching it with glue.
Finally I added the dragonfly, Stickles Glitter glue and a number of enamel dots.
To finish the card I mounted it onto a cream card blank.
I hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the DT have been up to and maybe join in the challenge.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with too.

Happy crafting.

Friday Fun Day.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

These are so pretty, given to me by a friend because......

I am cat cuddling this week and here he is.

Giving me that "where is my dinner" look!

Can't you see I'm starving women!

Now that is more like it!
This is Tiger cat.

Some of my orchids are flowering again, this one is so pretty.

I have to be honest that apart from shopping and visiting my mum we've not done much else. We are trying to protect ourselves to be there for my mum so the cat cuddling made a pleasant change though Maisie and Stan are not impressed.

However I do have plenty of crafting to do, something a bit special on the go but you'll get to see that some time in the future I'm sure, loads of gardening to be done and still haven't finished clearing the loft though the new cabin is almost full of stuff.
I have actually spent some time putting everything together on a new blog called Cabin Studio Fun which can be found here: https://angelacabinjob.blogspot.com/ and there's a link on the right side bar.
I had started a page on this blog but decided to give it one of it's own as there were so many photographs!

And a few funnies here that should really leave you with smiles.....

Dog funnies.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

WOYWW - 590 What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

  • New magazine and goodies covering the project that I'm working on at the moment which sadly has taken up the time when I should have got the new AALL and Create stamps out and had a play with them but once I get this started I'll go back to them.
  • The rolled up corrugated card at the right holds some magnets which I'm using for this project.
  • The tubs at the back are Gesso, crackle paint and Texture paste and should have been put away but as they are something I use quite a lot they may well stay put.
  • Next to them are some Martha Stewart punches also for this project.
  • I have no idea at the moment what's in the exploding box on the left but I think it needs sorting soon before it bursts out Lol!

I'm busy with something that I can't really show you yet but if you look at the photo below you might just get a clue.

So that's me done for today.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this left-over Masterboard:
I needed a quick card to send to a little girl who is just starting a new school, what could be better than this design, perfect.

This was never actually completed as a Masterboard and only got up to the smooshing stage.
This half finished card is perfect for the stamping I wanted to do and I used the Zig pens to colour the pencils leaving everything else without colour to make the pencils stand out against the background.

The stamp is by Tracy Evans and was just perfect for my little Niece starting back at school.
The card blank and the layering was done with Kraft card which seemed perfect to match with the pencils and a little more left over smooshed card and it's finished.

It's not too easy to see but I created a little shadow around the pencils and on the pencils too giving more depth to the card.
A quick card but sometimes it's just what you need.

I would love to hear your comments and
many thanks for stopping by.

Happy crafting,

Angela x

Friday Fun Day.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

In the park this week I took this photograph. Can you see who is hiding in the branches?

I'm not sure what I have been doing this week but it still seems to have gone quickly.
Walking dogs, doing mum's shopping, visiting mum with her supplies, phoning the doctor to arrange a visit for her, booking the flu jabs, washing.....Wash my mouth out Lol!
I did get into the loft to do a bit more sorting now that it's cooled down a little and yes pretty much the usual stuff really!

But I do have some funnies to show you.

Dog funnies first:

Not so funny maybe? but being a retired teacher I loved these.

I think there might be lots of parents who feel like this at lots of times during the year even before the Virus started, namely holidays maybe!

If you live in the UK you will probably know what this is about as a bus driver who was late taking pupils to school decided to take a short cut....it was not a good idea!

And this makes lots of sense to me, shame the politicians can't see this.

All taken from the recent 'Private Eye' magazine.

So that's it from me for today.
Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for

Playing with some stencils, Gesso and left-over Masterboard.
A new pebble in waiting to the right.
The large envelope on the left is a new collection of stamps and Stencils by AALL and Create.

Look forward to playing with these.
You may have seen these on Hochanda but I actually got them from Stampers Grove.

So that's me done for today, nice and quick today.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge -263 Use a Recycled Element.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers.

Judy is hosting today and our challenge is "Use a Recycled Element".

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to be cards as long as it meets the challenge.
Hope you will join in.
And here is my project for the challenge:
Made with everything I love, more left-over Masterboard and:

as I am a bit of a hoarder when it comes to cardboard I thought this would be a good chance to use some of it.
This is just a piece off a packaging.

The first thing I wanted to do here was to use some new dies and I've cut out several pieces in varying sizes.

The earlier project which this Masterboard was made for can be found here.

I've cut out all the pieces here using a Tonic die and edged the pieces with the Distress Inks.

To add more interested to the recycled card I've ripped away some of the layering to reveal the corrugation and then rubbed and edged it with the distress ink.

I love these dies by Tonic.

I've layered the other heart pieces together and if you look closely you can see that I've removed some of the paper from the package piece here too and then added the distress ink.
I designed this as an anniversary card.

In the park this week the Cygnets are getting bigger and whiter.

We found this nest on the footpath, blown off a tree by the wind so it's just as well that the nesting season is over.

He's not easy to see but the white bird is a Heron. It's not so often we see them in the trees as they normally prefer somewhere closer to the water.

I'm taking you for a little walk to the bottom of my garden today. This gate leads into the Moorland and not somewhere we go very often.

There's no actual right of way to it but some builder has bought a house which they are planning to knock down about half a mile away and they are trying to flatten some of the land at the moment. This is the view just over the fence.

Some of the land belongs to the council and some to a guy who no-one seems to know.

There are many wild plants in there as you can imagine.

Here's a bit that they've started to flatten.

More interesting are my lovely pears. Hubby calls this the perfect pear and I have to say theu are not all so nicely shaped.

Finally my dear Emily (cousin's Grandaughter) just starting a new school in Year 3.
She certainly seems happy to be going back to school and I love her shoes.

I'm not so sure these are funny more sad really but what do you think?

Dog funnies, much better!

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
