Friday Fun day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week well this was a few weeks ago now and when we left Whitby we went to Matlock Bath.
If you don't know this place it got the name because of the natural thermal water.
The history of this goes back to 1698 but the story is too long to cover today.

This is the hotel where we stayed.

The historic grade 2 listed building dates from 1770 when it was originally part of the larger New Inn built during the height of the Georgian spa era. Subsequently bought by wine merchant Job Hodgkinson in 1830's the large oval sign outside still bears his name and much of the ground floor interior remains intact from this time.
Great care has been taken to restore the remainder of the building to it's former Victorian splendor whilst satisfying the building to it's former Victorian splendor whilst satisfying the needs of the discerning traveller.

I think that's enough to give you an idea about it so here are some photos of this lovely hotel.

Breakfast.

And dinner.

Gorgeous food.

Scrummy chocolate.

And the rest of the hotel is just as good providing you don't want somewhere modern with boring grey walls that is!

Sitting room.

Hallway.

Bar and dining area.

Gorgeous old till.

Bet our friends at the Steampunk festival would love this.
I had no idea when I booked this what it was like so it was a lovely surprise.

I will show you more of what we got up to while we were there next week but for now we've been busy in the garden.

We brought this back from my mum's when we emptied the house and it's been to the sand blaster's. It originally came from a large house near the village where my mother lived, my Grandfather bought two of them when the house was being sold off but he sold one some years ago however mum kept her's much to the disappointment of the guy who would have liked them both so now it's got a new home and I love it.

Finally for today we've been cutting back the plants in the garden.
This is the Wisteria and it's massive!

Don't worry though because it will all grow back next year.

If you want a smile to finish off with, can you see who's watching what's happening?

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for "This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
We are here for another Wednesday at the Workdesk and here is:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

I've moved on a bit since you were here last week, adding more colour.

The netting is standing out more now and the octopus too.

I'm starting to like it more now.

Not much to say really but I'm sure you would sooner jusy look at the project so I'll leave you to it.

Been working on the inside too.

And a better view of the octopus.
I am really pleased with that mould, got it from Amazon.

Hoping to have it finished next week as I have other things I want to get on with including more MDF projects.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard:

You might remember me showing you this last week but if you missed it you can find it here:

But this week just couldn't decide what to do next with some of these.
I've been busy with another project but really wanted to keep up with making the Christmas cards so I got out an old die and well this is what happened, if you like Clean and simple cards then you'll love this......

The background die is an old one by Memory Box, cut onto white card and this time one of the Masterboard pieces in under the white card
.

I've also used some of the Masterboard to cut the snowflakes too (Sizzix) and finished it off with a Dome sticker by docrafts, a few dots of Stickles Glitter Glue, the sentiment is by Herto Arts and that's a bit more card used!

Hope you like it and I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week, well not really as this was the Bank Holiday but with so many great photos I don't want you to miss anything but hope you're not getting bored with these.

This would brighten anyone's day.

And the band played on.

The next lady might be small but absolutely gorgeous costume.

So imaginative.

If not rather strange!

Beautiful head-dress.

So love this piece.

And such happy faces too.

And more.

Such a sweet group of ladies.

And even more madness.

So much work goes into making these gadgets.

And what an amazing hat.

Last week I showed you our trip to Whitby but this week it's our trip to Matlock Baths in Derbyshire UK.

It would have been easier to go home but this time we carried on to Matlock.

This is me looking out from the hotel window.
To the left you will see several motorbikes as this is the favourite spot around here for them to meet.

And on the right a shop that sells clothing for the Motorbike enthusiast.

Now this is a very special hotel, a bit like being in a museum and there are so many interesting things to show you so here is just a peak....

And I will show you more next week.
and a little more about the village too.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

So here is my desk for today!
Still in the cabin.

I'm showing you this though I think it's the worst stage when you start to build up the colours.

But don't worry there's a long way to go and it probably wont look anything like this when it's finished.....I hope Hee! Hee!

Anyway at least it's a quick post today as there's not much else to see other than bottles of paint, texture paste, powders, water and a pair of rubber gloves!

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard:

Now I know it's only September but we all know how quickly the time goes so just had to start thinking Christmas cards Right!
Tape the sections with Washi tape or low tack tape on a piece of A3 card. Using a stencil mask off a few areas with Tim Holtz distress Glaze though Vaseline will do the job too. Spray on some distress stain or any other colour sprays you have.

Continue until you are happy with the colours.
Allow this to dry fully and then rub over it with a dry cloth to wipe of any loose glaze.

Take any snowflake stamp and apply these to add more detail.

When this is dry carfully remove the tape. Keep it flat and pull towards you.

On this occasion I have cut up all the individual pieces. If you use each of these individually they will make lots of cards.
However for these two cards I have only used one section per. card.

Layered everything with matching coours and matalic cord. The dark blue card helps the white sections to stand out nicely.

Finished off the cards with a die cut snowflake.
The sentiment was a freeby from a magazine.

I think this is a quick way to make some nice Christmas cards and if you're like me and send out a few this is a great way to get them ready.

I still have lots left so I'm off to see how else I can use them.

I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Angela x
